I feel that because of this book I can now quickly and concisely explain to others what my child deals with. I strongly recommend this book. It has been helpful to my child and surprisingly so to me. It may be written for younger children but it was not overwhelming for anyone because of this. It is not burdened with excess dialogue just straight to the point.
Great tool for counselling children with OCD. Great ideas for stimulating change from child's view point.
I will be getting another copy for his therapist - wish we were given this in the beginning. He has improved so much with the help of this book.
The severity comes and goes, in the last month it has gotten much worse. My son was diagnosed with OCD last year, on top of having type 1 diabetes.
It has given him the tools to work through the OCD on his own and sort out the bad thoughts from the goods ones. Decided to give this book a try based on the reviews and I am so glad we did.
We have worked on a chapter or two each night and it has really helped my son understand that other kids battle the same worries he has. I am sure we will revert back to it many times, it's nice to have a book like this to help.
Highly recommended.
Excellent book for kids and young teens to work with OCD symptoms, and to help adults understand OCD and help their kids. Very accessible, clear, easy to read. The best book on this that I have seen.
This book is a very nice addition to my children therapy books library in my private practice. Have read it to my own 6 year old who also enjoyed it.
